Job Description: Visitor Experience Assistant
Do you want to help bring history to life at one of Hampshire’s most unique heritage sites?
As a key member of our Operations Team at Rockbourne Roman Villa, you’ll be at the heart of welcoming visitors to this remarkable archaeological site. You’ll provide outstanding customer service, support our retail and admissions processes, and help ensure the Villa remains a well-presented, inspiring and accessible place for everyone.
This role works to a 730-hour annualised contract, meaning your working hours vary across the year depending on seasonal demand. Between October and March you will agree your working hours with the General Manager. Allocated duties outside of the season, will include meeting contractors on site, carrying out regular checks on site, collection care, scheduled training and preparing the site for reopening. You will also receive a £1.00 per hour Duty Manager uplift for any hours worked as the onsite duty manager – following training.
A bit about you
You’ll be a people-focused, proactive team member with a passion for great visitor engagement. You will enjoy meeting new people, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere, and providing excellent customer service. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to prioritise and plan your time well, supervise and delegate tasks to a small team of volunteers, and evidence of following operational processes and procedures. You will also be confident using a range of digital systems, including box office, retail and stock systems.
