Job Description: Exhibition Technician
Have you got great practical skills in woodwork and problem solving?
We're looking for an Exhibition Technician to join our small, dedicated team. You’ll play a key role in the construction, delivery, and installation of temporary exhibitions, as well as the ongoing maintenance of displays across our museums in Hampshire. One week, you might be building a display case or framing a picture; the next, installing high-value objects or helping design an interactive exhibit.
You’ll bring excellent technical skills in woodwork (or a similar trade), a keen eye for detail, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with confidence in driving a van. Access to your own vehicle may be required occasionally to travel to our venues.
A bit about you
You will have an appreciation for the arts, heritage and culture and previous experience as a technician, or a similar role would be an advantage though not essential. You will be competent in the use of hand and power tools and familiar working with a variety of materials such as wood, metal and plastic. In this rewarding role you must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines during exhibition installs.
